Bill Arbios was one of the pioneers in setting the standards for meritage wines while at Lyeth in 1981. He started Arbios Cellars in 1993, and since then he has been producing high-quality, reasonably priced Cabernet. His ’99 Cab starts with aromas of black cherries and green olives. The fruit-to-earth balance is enjoyable through the lingering, rich finish." (11/02) K&L's notes: I think this wine is even better than the 1997. To me it shows a bit more depth of fruit and concentration than the 1997. Still classic Alexander Valley, it shows red fruits and plum flavors, balanced by good acidity and freshness, with a hint of black cherry and toast. This is a wine to enjoy over the next 3-5 years!
